Nothing to Envy: Ordinary Lives in North Korea

by Barbara Demick

The book gives you perspective on how the ordinary person in North Korea lives, like any usual person that have their own hopes & dreams, just like us. One part I found interesting is how the famine in the 1990s directly affected their citizens, no matter the class or status (excluding the highest class of course).

1984

by George Orwell

It’s a classic book but I don’t really think it suits me with the writing style. But I could see how it’s a good book and it’s relevant to this day (especially in recent years).

The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes

by Suzanne Collins

To be honest I don’t really remembered much of the plot since I read it last year’s July. But I will say it is a good read but not as captivating or heartbreaking as the next book (Sunrise on the Reaping).

Sunrise on the Reaping

by Suzanne Collins

I don’t plan on reading the original Hunger Games since knowing the plot and it’s been quite many years since its release. I figured that reading this book would emulate how it would feel like reading the original Hunger Games for the first time.

Very captivating and just heartbreaking. 5 stars. Imma go drink some milk now.

Project Hail Mary

by Andy Weir

I remembered going into the book not sure what to expect, is it another The Martian book? Well I would say during the mid-way of the book I would definitely say it’s quite different in the sense of the story itself. The survival is still as captivating as The Martian, as well as its humour and wholesomeness.
